I disagree - I pray always - I keep a running conversation going at all times with Father.
Prayer is talking AT Father, not speaking with him
As far as "ask and you shall receive" this is not true, at least not in my experience.
Apparently there are some limits to asking and receiving as with everything in this life.

The entire ensemble is important. However, this verse has the most specificity to you.

1. Must be in spirit
2. Must be IN TRUTH.
There are no shortages of people praying at Father saying gimme gimme gimme.
As for YOUR experience - the operative word is YOUR. Your experience, your evolutionary moment, your integrity and your soul. These are things that only you control. If you don't receive, the why of it rests solely upon you.
When Stephen came for his visit, I told him how to do things.
On his third effort he succeeded at reaching Father. I didn't have to teach him about spirit - these things were already within him. He needed only a little direction.
I have no power to elevate a person's moment. I can inspire, suggest or teach but in the end it is your freewill that determines your course.
Now, I know this will cause you some frustration because you haven't yet reached that moment. All you really 'NEED' to know is to do good be good. Everything else will take care of itself.

Imbasile,
I once thought that I am not in charge, everything dies in the end and so on. I had a band going around that theme, and we did pretty okay.
So I suggest that you start to do music. Thats where the helpless misery belongs to, it has no other valuable place. In real world.. man, take a good grip about things: you are in charge.

Remember without the whiners you would have no one to insult and the squeaky wheel gets the grease. To accept and not judge, have an opinion and not voice it is to continue being the very sheep that we came here to overcome. Cal - I have read and understood your posts on Father and how to contact and converse with Him, sorry my use of the word "pray" was not proper, but I thought the next line with the word conversation would allow for it. The "why" I don't receive is because it goes against the plan for the rest of this planet, these things I have been told. Father will not allow me to manifest those things I wish, for then I would get in the way... Some extra would be nice on the material level, but I get by. I concentrate on the spiritual, mental phases of my life. |

I don't mind a reasoned and valid complaint. However whiners are like welfare cases. Some people on welfare need the assistance in a legitimate context, but their existence does not improve.
In addition whiners seldom offer up a better way. |

Liberals say you shouldn't judge (THEM!), while they judge everyone. Forgive me but this whiner comment sounds like a rationalization to be a sheep so you can blame the Judas goat for the poor results when led into the slaughterhouse.

BS. You don't receive because Father has decided that your petitions lack the critical element of truth. You don't get it. Here is a personal message from Father to me as appears in the Apostle's code

How is it that I've gone nearly 2000 years without whining at God for miracles or interventions?
The answer is simple - I do get it. It's about service. My entire repetoire of prayers comes down to one blessing and two prayers.
The prayers are
Thy Will Be Done
and
Father, please don't let me screw this up.
As the verse notes, I've asked nothing for myself.
When I need money - Father sends what I need. I have no need to ask Him. In His service, Father provides what is needed. I accept that and I'm content with having those needs met and have no desire or expectation of being stinking rich. I also work and that provides the vehicle for the arrival of money. It doesn't appear on my couch.
You strike me as a deal maker. Father, if you do this, I'll do that.
Yet, Father doesn't make deals. As I've said before, Do Good Be Good is what you need to understand, accept and to live.

Your lack of attention and focus is incredible Dave - I never said "satan" made me do anything. I said this world is full of evil and deciet and is not worthy of an honerable mention. Regardless what you think of my logic at least it is in the logic category.
To offer up a better way is also to you to be called arrogant and self serving so what would be the point. You would find fault with anything just because you wish too. I might also remind you that it is the governments that have created the welfare states that exist by NOT allowing freedom to accomplish and dehumanizing and demoralizing the populace. This would then be the fault of the individual in your logic.
I'd rather take a sharp, dirty stick in the eye than live with that type of logic.
Cal - poor results come from actions based on poor information (or lack thereof) - this is a given here - by your own admission.
So it would be do the best you can with what you have and then if it comes out bad, blame myself not those that created the problems in the first place? Or I should just take one for the team because I'm ignorant and the team is mo betta? No wonder the universe is in such a state.
As far as the "ask and you shall receive" question - you bypass the question - it says to ask, it does not say what for or who for - if you ask nothing for yourself that is your problem, if I ask and am told no then that is mine. I see no problem in asking for those things that I think are needed from Father, that is what children do, unless they are browbeat into some type of submission for actually thinking for themselves.
Far as I can tell there are those that have asked and have been given everything, they must be more important than the rest of us.
The scriptures state that Father does make deals - hence the covenants of old and new testaments - if you do these things I will bless you, if you do those things I will curse you. Seems to me to be the same thing you said doesn't happen.
This didn't start out too bad, but then you guys started calling names and trying to bully. If you don't like my logic then you don't, but don't get in my face with bs. It's starting to sound like a religious hellfire and damnation rant in here.

The large view: there has never been any freedom only the illusion of: the master of this world (satan for lack of a better term) allows for humanity to think they have this and that while deception abounds and he runs the world. (check your history, there has always been the elite who rule by force, even in the small tribes)
