Within Jewish tradition, there is no example of the encryption methdology employed in the Revelation Code EXCEPT for Daniel.
Ditto this for Christian tradition EXCEPT for John.
Jews did employ a simple substitution alphabet for encryption purposes. Not a woo woo woo in the world of encryption but, hey, it was 2000+ years ago so we have to cut them some slack.
There is no record of where the two men received the instructions on 'how to'. Furthermore, over time, Jews have been prolific writers. It follows that a knowledge of this style of 'sealing' would also have been passed forward even if only in oral tradition.
What do Dan and John have in common? Both were visited by the same angel. We know this because of their reports. The angel arrives and they both hit the deck on their hands and knees and 'worship' at his feet. The angel tells both men to stand up. He obviously doesn't care for people groveling at his feet. To John, he adds something else - 'for we are brothers'. If you're brother to an angel - you are an angel. In his departing comments he calls Daniel a Son of man and says, I'll catch up to you at the end of the timeline. No such comment was made to John.
So, we have two men, one of whom is an incarnated angel and an angel that doesn't like people groveling. Clearly, this angel is not of the universal mindset that loves people groveling in slavery.
I propose that the 'how to' methodology of the coding is sourced from the angel providing the information 'and' both men were told to keep their mouths shut about it except to the fact the works were 'sealed'. It explains why there is no Jewish tradition on the subject as well.
It kinda of provides a unique definition to the idea of thinking ahead
