that there's a lot of talent floating around HQ. One I know about is Marten. Aside from being an architectural engineer, he's also an inventor.

He came up with a new toliet seat for kids. I know, it doesn't sound sexy but I sure could have used his product. Its a regular toliet seat with a flip down insert so a small bottom can sit the throne without falling in. It does away with the potty a lot of kids are trained with.

My kid would not use the kid's potty and insisted on the throne where he grabbed the sides and balanced himself. Remarkably,
he never fell in once.

For the sake of you Euro's, instead of 'bottom' I originally used the word fanny. It occured to me that since you folks are so backwards, you think the fanny is on the front side Makes one wonder how you manage to procreate

My kid uses the throne and insists it. He fells in everytime, but always manages to hang on on his elbows.

He is a bit over three now.

As a matter of fact, we have one of those add ons to the throne, but he insists to go without it. If it is Marten's invention, I know it's been great for other less stubborn kids here.

Theoretically, there could have been euro identity 'if' there was even a tiniest respect for the ordinary man and nations and given a timespan of 500 years minimum to get together under same legislation, military and a flag. You touch upon an important point. though. Talent is a good thing. It flourishes the BEST in free environments. Yes, there is a lot of talent around HQ, and in the free world in general. NEVER have so many great products and services been available to the world - and all made possible by free people using their GOD given talent to do something to please their fellow man.

This is the essence of Capitalism. Risk your capital and your talent to provide something that free people chose to buy or consume or hire. When free people choose to spend their hard earned money on something of value to them, it is win / win.

I hear a lot of stupid talk about the evils of capitalism. Greed. Money. Inequality. NONE of it is true in a free society. ZERO, and I can tell you why.

Free markets work because everybody wins. You earn your money by creating something of value to someone else. You create this value in excess supply than your own needs, and are free to sell this value to others who in turn pay you for your efforts.

There are only 4 ways to make money in the world. Land. Labor. Capital. Entrepreneurship. That is it. And wealth is created when a human acts on a resource. A job only exists when one of these methods are used to create value for someone else. Private property is the cornerstone of all free market enterprise. In a free society, you are free to choose the kind of job you want to do, but you must be able to create value that someone else wants. And if you suck at what you do, you need to either get better at it, or find a job that creates better value for others, based on your skills and talent.

A person with skill and talent can also create a business which hires free people to create more wealth for the owner. This is the only reason any jobs exists (unless it is a government job, and then it is not really a job, it is employment). Jobs exist to create wealth for the owner. Again, it is win/win. You get a job, and you agree to the wages you can negotiate based on your skills and talent. As long as you can continue to create wealth for the owner, your job will likely continue to exist. If you feel your skill and talent are being wasted, or not fairly compensated, you are free to find another job that creates more value for others, and earns you a better wage. Or, work for yourself. There is no free lunch.

Concepts like 'a working wage' or 'a living wage' are idiotic. Jobs do not exist to provide you with a living. They exist to create wealth for the owner. When your job creates a burden to the owner (ie costs him wealth), then you either get fired or have to produce more, as determined by the owner. And it is not the job of the government to determine your worth in wages. When the government does this, it is called 'minimum wage' and it forces the owner to pay you based on the gov't formula, not on your value creating potential. So, a minimum wage only hurts the poorest of the poor, the lowest on the economic ladder.

When the value you create is no longer greater than the wage you are being paid, your job gets eliminated. Period. If you can't live on the wage you are being paid, then get a better job, get a second job. Increase your skills. But do not just expect to get paid more.

Yes, it come down to talent, and hard work. Luck is just another word for working hard in the right place at the right time with talent. And it is created, not bestowed. And even then talent and hard work are not a guarantee.

But remember this. Capitalism is about service to others. Find something that others want and you can create and you are engaged in Capitalism. This can only happen in a free country. Government has no idea what is best for you, or what you should be paid for your talent. The best thing government can do is get out of the way, and reduce the barriers to doing business. Reducing taxes rescues capital from wasteful government spending, and keeps it in your hands. And if you engage in capitalism, then you are pleasing your fellow man by freely providing goods or services, or paying for them. Simple.

Americans, BO wants to take this away from you, and replace it with what the government thinks you should have. Have a look at Cuba, or Venezuela, or North Korea, or France, etc. The problem IS too much government. Government replaces individual talent. This is when a society crumbles. There is genius in EVERY individual, and only freedom will allow that talent to live and grow.

Don't you guys get it? The greatest resource on the face of this planet is not OIL, or COAL, or LUMBER, or STEEL. or PLUTONIUM, or any other natural resource you can name. It is the HUMAN SOUL. Ask any business person what their greatest company assets are. PEOPLE. With free people you can overcome any problem, or resource scarcity, or technical problem, or economic situation, or changing climate - anything.

Government replaces human talent with POLICY. It squashes personal initiative, squanders your capital resources on crap, and replaces your self sufficient well-being with government force. Tyrannical government enforces intellectual slavery.

AMERICA, THIS IS WHERE YOU ARE HEADING.

Thanks for the kind words but it isn't an issue of farsightedness. It does center on learning the lessons of history - what works and what doesn't. Also required is an extensive knowledge of the corruption of spirit at the center of things and the varied rationalizations used to justify the execution of evil upon one's fellow man.

I realize that for many in this forum, my last rant was 'preaching to the choir'. You already get it. But there is lots of other traffic out there, searching, trolling for truth where they can find it.

So, here is another question I should have included in the last bit.

What is the single most expensive thing that most of us will ever purchase in this lifetime?

A house you say? Nope.

A car? wrong again.

A college education? Nay.

The single greatest and most costly thing you will buy in this lifetime is GOVERNMENT. And your BILL for more government is growing by Thousands of Billions of dollars under Barak the Usurper.

You will start paying from the instant you are born, and your estate will make the last payment for you after you are dead (death tax). And when you add up the amount of tax you are paying at all levels of state and municipal and federal tax, sales tax, tobacco, value added, etc., it is more than 50% of everything that you will ever earn.

And for those of you looking for more government handouts, you are driving up the cost of government. Government loves this. It makes them important. You become dependent on them, and then they OWN YOU.

Government is also unable to create wealth. Only free people, using talent and resources can create wealth. And here is a concept your college professors are not likely to tell you. The creation of wealth is NOT LIMITED.

It is worth repeating. The creation of wealth is NOT LIMITED. Free people can generate as much as they can imagine. There is not a fixed amount of wealth in the world, and to get rich doesn't mean that you have to take it from someone else. NOT true.

Simple case in point. You buy a house. Maybe you even had to borrow the whole amount to buy it. And the house is in rough shape. You fix it up. Paint the fence. New kitchen cupboards, and a few other appearance items. Now you sell the house for a profit, even after your initial loan and upgrade expenses. The market has rewarded your efforts with a profit. You created new value where none existed before. A human acting on a resource creates new value where none existed before. And it only works if you create something of value to your fellow man. This is capitalism. Wealth is created. Generated. Wealth is unlimited.

America, you know this. That is why you are the most wealthy nation on the planet. Your free people used their talent and skills to generate value never before seen on this planet. It can only be accomplished if you stop paying more than 50% of everything to buy more government. Government can't create wealth, it can only take wealth from one American and give it to another. Nothing is gained in this transaction. It is called robbing from Peter to give to Paul.

This is why totalitarian welfare states such as the socialists and communists don't create wealth, and why they try so hard to re-distribute the limited fixed amount of wealth they have. They kill human initiative and wealth creativity. And this is also why they have to expand and take over other wealthy neighbors so they can bring in (steal) new wealth.

AMERICA, USE YOUR TALENT TO STOP THE TRANSFER OF YOUR WEALTH TO THE GOVERNMENT. THEY ARE ROBBING YOU BLIND. AND THEY WILL OWN YOU, IF YOU LET THEM.

We have people educated for the last 40 years under a marxist system of indoctrination (not education).

I had a friend (American) who was going to marry a British heart surgeon (1971). He made 12,000 a year and felt he owed it to the social system to spend the rest of his life in servitude to that system because they had paid for his education. I told her, you need to work on him.
If he comes here, he'll do a 1 year internship and have to pass the medical boards. He'll clear 100,000 + his first year in practice. I've seen a Canadian physician also mindwarped by the indoctrination. It should come as no surprise that the supply of doctors servicing the Brits are foreigners imported because they will work for a pitance.

A black fellow on the radio commented before the election, Blacks and dumb white kids are going to give it to us. Again, the product of marxist education. Many of hour history books BEGIN at the Civil war and racism. These kids grow up to be in the hate America first crowd and they lack the ability to think and have no desire to educate themselves. They are 'true believers' who think they already know. Of course, the Communists call them useful idiots.
