If you haven't already heard, a plane took of from La Guardia airport and lost both of its engines due to bird hits. Dead stick and with only a certain amount of energy left, the pilot guided his craft into the Hudson River missing bridges and boat traffic. He brought it down gently and boats in the area made a beeline to it - taking people out of the frigid water and off the plane's wings.
The 150 on board plus the flight crew survived. There were no deaths. The pilot, co pilot, the crew AND all of the passengers kept their cool and none panic'd.
Even the Godless left is calling this a 'MIRACLE' and it is.
The Father of all Sky Pilot's had his hand upon the moment and upon the people involved. The result of this intervention was seen on the faces and in the demeanors of those involved.
I heard that someone is doing a painting of the scene showing angel's holding the wings level to the water as it went into the river. Had one of those wing tips caught the water, the story would have turned out differently.
To be sure, the pilot is the big Hero of the moment. Even so, I'm certain he will also give credit for the other help he received, many of the passengers already have.
This was a day of heros, those who helped the survivors and the survivors themselves. A day where selflessness and service was the norm.

I flew out of LaGuardia a few weeks ago. If the plane was only 900 ft over the George Wash. Bridge...that was a narrow escape from death indeed.
