There are two types of people. Those who make decisions on facts, logic, truth and common sense. Then those who make decisions on emotions and feelings.

Cal, you and I are obviously members of the logically minded group. The people that try to argue with you are of the emotional group. The emotional group dismisses facts and logic. They simply say that it doesn't seem right, it doesn't feel correct, therefore I don't believe it. Since they base everything on feelings and not truth, you will never change their minds.

The logical group finds joy in solving problems and getting life to proceed in an organized manner. The emotional group finds joy in crisis and mob situations. In these situations they can let their emotions run wild and control their actions. Those who lust after power use these emotional's need for crisis and emotional stimulation to control them and gain the power they require. (Global warming, economy crisis, gay rights, endangered species, healthcare crisis, pollution, religious extremists and so on....)

Since the emotionals are 50% or more of our population, we have a problem. I have no solution since I can't relate to them or know how to correct their thinking. Genetics and internal processes are what they are. If they're not working properly, you need to change the DNA and internal thought processes. Dangerous talk.

This is the basic difference between male and female.

I disagree with this analysis. For example, men think first and feel second. Women feel first and think about it second.

As to the rest of your comments, I don't think that corruption comes down to think first feel first. You describe the mechanisms and techniques of communists appealing to the corrupted who think that the world owes them a living while they contribute nothing of import except another generation of parasites taught to feed off the body public until, as parasites will, they kill that body. Corruption of Spirit is the issue.

Agreed.

Although, it may be true for perhaps a large majority of the population -- there is a small percentage of men and women that are the opposite. I am a woman that demands logic first (think) then feeling second. I discovered this about myself when I started working in the computer industry. While there are many women in the computer field - a field that demands logic first there is simply more men in this field. I am greatly outnumbered in the computer industry -- especially at the age of 50. I have noticed more younger women, but still not many.

Oddly enough, my husband is one male that comes very close to speaking "woman". He has a strong sense of feeling first -- but it does not negate his masculinity -- it enhances it. Woman gravitate to him like flies to a honey pot.

So, my husband and I are fairly good match.

I do have a difficult time relating to women and I have very few women friends. I just don't understand their "whining and bitching" about men -- and I think they give men a bad rap when they all need to shut up for awhile.

Perhaps people who argue with Cal are those who need to take a "logic" class whether they are men or women.

I used to suggest this but those who most needed it never did it.

Holmsian Logic works for most things.

Once you've eliminated the obvious, that which remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth.

As to female bitching. I've seen otherwise good relationships destroyed by 'girl talk'. Women who were happy with their men get into these bitching sessions, come home and start working over their husbands. One day he was walking on water, the next day he crawled out from under a rock and he, himself, made no change - she changed.

I've never understood this quirk of the female nature and don't expect I ever will.

Computers are unforgiving when it comes to logic. You work within its expected parameters or you get lost. It'll tell you when you've screwed up and give you the chance to fix it. I suppose this is why I really enjoy programming. It gives me an outlet for my creative juices, feeds my face, and there's no irrationality to it.

Back in 85, when the first pc's came out, I bought a TRS80 Model III. I loved that machine. As soon as I learned that cussing at it and bouncing it off the walls didn't work - I decided to teach myself programming. In those days, there wasn't a lot of off the shelf software available and the little there was didn't address what I wanted to do.

I saw where the pc could go and started getting them to do things that weren't originally intended. I jumpered it, jury rigged it and because of what I learned from it, I created a business.
Criminal Records for public consumption. Of course, getting the courts to give up their data was no easy task then and I had to become proficient in legal matters as well. My purpose was to make a living helping other people protect themselves from bad guys. For me, this was a win win all the way round. Since then, a lot of others have followed the trails I blazed then.
