I told this board because I decided to stand in service to the Truth. How can I participate in this board without telling you what I've done wrong?

Op
While this may not meet Cal's criteria as a "Father moment", that is what I choose to call it. You all are convinced that drugs could never bring about a positive change in someone. For the vast majority of the time, this is true. This time, that wasn't the case.
The purpose of drugs is to escape from reality. It is a form of denial. The only time I'd even begin to consider a higher purpose would be if you were in the hands of a native american shaman who knew what he was doing. This is not case
What you are calling a Father moment isn't. If anything, it would be called a moment of epiphany. There is a big difference between the two.
You're all reacting as though I've just let you down. That, also, isn't true. I let you down a long time ago. This is just the first admittance to that fact, and while you are all busy putting me down, belittling and pitying me, I feel more sure of my future and more empowered to change it than ever before.
No Op - you let yourself down and I don't see anyone cutting you down.
Frankly, your reactions are overly patronizing and very discouraging. You choose to see the worst in me and only ever expect as much.
I don't think you really know what others think but are filtering it thru lenses that are far from clear.
Forgive me for acting like a smart-ass, but you weren't here, and you don't know.
I've experienced the Father moment and yes I DO KNOW.
Of course, like I said, I have nothing to prove to Cal, the Advens, or anyone else on Earth except Father and ME.
If your moment of clarity was enough to inspire to you make changes - good. The next step is to clean up your associations and decide upon your course. Review the page on Denials and (for yourself) form a check list of how many of these are with you. Let that become a work list for yourself.
Service to the truth begins with
We never tell lies - to others or to ourselves.

The reason for saying this really came from aften's comment "You have already broken a trust with everyone on this board."
That is the process I have begun already. Ive told my two closest friends im done with smoking and they have both accepted it. One of them has even gone so far as to say he's ready to stop as well. We both agreed that things are getting dicey in this world and it would serve us better to stay focused.

I still don't see this as a cut. More that you see it that way.
What is the purpose of HQ? - the truth.
From time to time we have some malcontent roll through here, but, for the most part, the folks that post are well intended and it is within that intent that a trust is born. The number of those reading far exceed those who post. I wish that were different.
The best way to start a journey of change is with small steps. Taking massive leaps tends frequently to result in failure. Small, sure steps. Then, as you put distance between where you were and where you want to be - you can pick up the pace.
Perhaps the biggest guideon in the journey is the intent. Repentance. To be truly sorry for past wrongs and the firm committment not to repeat past wrongs. This is a conversation you could have with Father.
Go thee and sin no more - pretty much said it all when Jesus said it.
The road to change requires the recognition that a change needs to be made. You seem to have passed this point. Thus the greatest denial is behind you. Now the issue is how.
Cleaning up our life, your living environment and your associations is the next step. Then do good - be good. Begin here with the 3 good deeds a day. They don't have to be big things, opening a door - picking up a piece of trash etc. This circles then back to intent and it becomes a self sustaining engine that carries forward into the future and within you.

Sorry Op, this board does not consolidate wanton. It supports noodles. Lots of it. Use your noodle for a moment.
Truth is hardly ever sympathetic to those who rationalize. The one thing that can be for certain however is that you wish to become a better person. That is excellent.
All that can be done is to pick up the broken pieces, leave behind the crud, and keep going. Shed that dead part and keep going in the pursuit of the blessed truth.
