Dave comment: I heard threw the grape vine, that banks are not honoring a power of atty. Case in point - the case of that airplane (that blew up over Scotland about 21 years ago) to the tune of 8 million dollars compensation. Bank of America is the problem. Kaddafi own shares or what? Any how if you have elder people leaving you stuff....you had better look in to this. Below is a attorney link to the question. The Banksters are greedy. Will Your Power of Attorney Really Work? is a power of attorney created in WA state valid and binding in another state For the most part powers of attorney are fairly portable but each state has its own banking regulations. Many banks will not honor a particular power of attorney if banking powers for the bank's home State are not included in the document. If you are moving to another state or if you do business in another state on a regular basis then you should have that State's banking powers included in your power of attorney. www.avvo.com/legal-answers/is-a-power-of-attorney-created-in-wa-state-valid-a-7343.htmlwww.gleedlaw.com/estate-planning.html
