I've heard about people who are depressed, miserable and have no will to live who, under surgery, cease to exist and are replaced by a "walk-in". Upon waking up from surgery, the doctor will say "Mr. Smith, how are you feeling?" and they will invariably reply "I'm not Mr. Smith: I'm a walk-in". They then proceed to completely change their lives and the old persons belongings and household are changed or completely replaced.
Is there any truth to these stories?

Oph,
If you recall my discussing Drunvalo Melchizedek in an earlier thread, he is supposedly a walk-in, the spirit inhabiting his body previously and the current one are drastically different in personality it would appear that this phenomena does occur, though I've never heard of the person announcing it to the doctor. It apparently can happen during drug overdoses as well.
