Not Every One Is Starry Eyed

Hi all,

I found this online, I think he summed up the Obama Effect rather succinctly. I remember the first time I saw Obama on t.v., my husband and mother in law were already "starry eyed" about him. I didn't get much of a feeling at all, just thought "who the hell is this guy?

My gut reaction was that there was nothing to him really, just veneer. My husband carries on about this is a major thing, a black man having a chance at the presidency. I agree, I think it means that we haved reached that place where the person's color and gender are not the deciding factor in whether they can run for the office of president. But that doesn't mean I have to vote for him. I don't like him.

Oh, those silly-nilly Founding Fathers! They put constraints into the Constitution pertaining to what the government COULDN'T do TO us, but they forgot to put in all the wonderful stuff the gov SHOULD do FOR us!
