News stories have been surfacing about North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Il's health. It's been said he's had some chronic health trouble since the past decade or so and that a stroke may have been what kept him from being present at the recent military exhibition that he never misses, and as such, whatever his ailment may be must be quite serious indeed. If he is headed for Death's Door, I hope it means the North Koreans and everyone else in the region can breathe a sigh of relief, but it wouldn't surprise me if there's at least one self-aggrandizing general ready to pounce at the opportunity of taking over at the passing of the Dear Leader. On a side note, I just found this, though it's dated from back in June, "Obama offers change Kim Jong-Il can believe in." www.worldtribune.com/worldtribune/WTARC/2008/ea_nkorea0256_06_19.aspFunny how it's being reported by an operative newspaper in Japan.

The Nation is an example of being stagnate. Kim Jong power depends on the military (militarism). The North Korean doctrine is to invade the South. A solution is to degrade the military. So that some economic development can happen. But thats not going to happen as the military leaders don't understand economics, let alone simple give and take solutions.
Maybe the long held belief that invasion of the South would only lead to destruction. Replaced with trade with the South.

The biggest issue is that Barrack Obama doesn't follow nor understand the premise of "Speak softly and carry a big stick."
Even though it was originally an African saying. ZING!
If he will meet them without preconditions, who is to say that that won't either? Incredibly naiive; especially since he wants to completely negate all military progression and quick expansive spread of knowledge because the military get things first, then the public reaps the benefits after it serves its purpose in war.

Well maddoctor, one has to ask the reason that North Korea was named as part of the evil axis?
I think that the Bush Admin was putting North Korea on notice that shaking down America for money was not going to happen while Bush was President.
Maddocter quote: "The biggest issue is that Barrack Obama doesn't follow nor understand the premise of "Speak softly and carry a big stick."
I think that Obama hates women based in his experience with his mother. The issues for Obama is that he lacks good experience and good judgement. Obama does not come from a family that gave him a solid foundation. Sadly Obama chooses to hide everything about his life. From his birth certificate, College University grades, friends and associates, religious beliefs, investments in land deals, the flip flops, . In order to carry a big stick it is fundamental that one can not be a liar.
The biggest stick around is The Father.
