Komrade Obama is now proposing to reduce the tax deductions for charity and churches.
This is the incremental first step to getting rid of it.
Of course, charitiable giving is voluntary and the idea doesn't serve the goal of enslaving the nation to governmental controls.
Communism can not co-exist with God.
Also, the commies are planning on the same for the mortgage deduction. Millions of people will be forced from their houses.

In my view, Churches are already compromised regarding free speech. When the government does not like what is being said in Church, they can get the IRS to threaten to take away the tax exempt status - and the churches always cave, and are silenced.
It is the enforcement of the false notion of Separation of Church and State. Speak out at the pulpit against politicians who support abortion, and you face repercussions. Unless of course it is a black church and you are a race baiting poverty pimp like Jesse or Al. Ever heard Al Gore speak to a black congregation? Night and day. Hypocrisy rules supreme these days - right is wrong, and good is bad. This really must be the end times.

The way it works, a church has to apply to the government for tax exempt status. This is where the controls appear. On the other hand, there are churches that exist that don't take the exempt status - their paritioners know that whatever they give can't be deducted and the gov has no influence. These churches, however, are few and far between.
You are quite right that the restrictions on political speech in a church only are enforced against whites.

I would say that it is not just whites whose political speech is restricted, under threat of tax laws, but it is white churches. You can be white and rant politically in black churches till you are blue in the face. Bill did it. Hillary did it. Gore did it.
But you wait. Big GOV will find other methods of applying pressure and silencing dissent. My guess is that hate speech laws are going to make it impossible to speak against the Obamanation, the anointed savior of the hard left.

CT is trying to pass a law striping the Catholic Church of the right to manage their own affairs.
Instead, a citizen's advisory board would dictate to the church, collect money, pay bills etc.
There is a significant outrage.
