You may recall I said that Obama has never had an original idea in his life. The proof arrives with his teleprompter, the device without which he can't speak (or think) and which frequently screws up delivering other people's ideas to Obama's mouth.

Welll...................... The teleprompter told Obama to read the speech. Then it told the Irish Ambassador to read Obama's speech then it told Obama to read the Irish Ambassador's speech. You just have to love a teleprompter who knows who is in charge  |

No surprise. Folks said the same things about Bush. I'd challenge anyone to do extemporaneous speaking well. Good commentary though.

You'd challenge? I've done it. The Global Sciences speech was 100% off the cuff.
I had decided that if I was going to speak on matters of soul, I should speak from the soul. I didn't need notes, teleprompter or anything else other than my own knowledge.
I prepared the opening line.
Good evening ladies and gentlemen and anyone in between.

As for that challenge, I have spoken publicly and off the cuff on radio, TV, the internet - I used to be on a radio show back east with a daily audience in the neighborhood of 250,000. The only time I ever needed a teleprompter was for reading the news. I've also interviewed hundreds of relatively unknown people who could articulate ideas without a teleprompter. Many didn't even use written notes. You just have to be yourself and speak confidently. Actually believing what it is you are saying helps too. Not that big a deal really.
