This is worth a read online.wsj.com/article/SB123051100709638419.htmlThis fellow isn't a psychic, he is, more than anything else, an historian. I disagree with his opinion that foreign powers would move in. Primarily because the US still has nuclear weapons and, with nothing to lose, wouldn't hestiate to unleash them. The only reason we haven't used them again (since Japan) is the idea we want the world to love us. When this goes - the nukes will fly. Also, unlike Russia or China, the US has a very well armed population.

I concur, foreign powers probably won't control US. However there might be attempts. Further, I don't see Mexico controlling Texas. Northern Mexican States are very business like and they would be much more comfortable being independent or being under US influence.

"Crazy ideas are not usually discussed by serious people," says Sergei Rogov, director of the government-run Institute for U.S. and Canadian Studies
I dig that quote.

Hollis
Since he accurately called the break up of the soviet union - may-be the fellow knows what he's talking about.

No where in that article did it say that he forecasted the break up of the USSR. It does say:
"People like him have forecast similar cataclysms before, he says, and been right. He cites French political scientist Emmanuel Todd. Mr. Todd is famous for having rightly forecast the demise of the Soviet Union -- 15 years beforehand. "When he forecast the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1976, people laughed at him," says Prof. Panarin."

That article is what I pulled off the web resultant from my hearing about the story on TBN. The Hal Lindsay Show. The rest is sourced from there.
However, I think the Russian's computation may be more optimistic than mine.
1. There is not one elected federal official in compliance with the 10th amendment (from either party). 2. All took an oath to defend the Constitution. All are perjurers. 3. All have comspired together to disobey the Constitution. There are a multitude of conspiracy charges available. 4. The combinations of the two conform to treason against the United States, the Constitution her people. 5. The level of corruption is 100%. 6. Roughly 50% of the courts are so corrupted by what is pleasingly called 'activist' judges. They also took an oath to uphold the Constitution and they are co-conspirators with the elected. 7. As the corrupted control ALL of the venues in the justice system, Department of Justice etc., it follows they won't prosecute themselves.
Now add the additional burdens of onerous taxation that exists for no other reason than to divert public resources into vehicles that buy them votes from equally corrupted people. This is Obama's primary 'base'. Everyone who gets something from the federal government at someone else's expense.
Add also 2 + generations of government repression against the majority population for the benefit of an ever ungrateful minority.
Add also the fact that blacks dancing in the streets do not view this as an accomplishment of equality but as pay back time.
You have a very large can of gasoline ready to explode.
The proof of the mindset rests not in opinion but in the sale of weapons (primarily assault weapons) and ammo after the election. What you don't hear is that these sales are still continuing. It wasn't a one day affair.
It won't take long for Obama's lies, distortions and deceits to surface. However the Communist Press in America will cover for him. Regardless, few will believe them. The only issue now is when it will happen (not if) and how.
Putting aside all of my issues, there is only one way this could be avoided. Given the fact of 100% corruption, the Military should step up, arrest every elected official and set a federal governor in charge of federal functions until the Constitution can be restored to its original configuration. This could be done in no more than 6 months. The Supreme Court should be dismantled and reconfigured to three people answerable to the president.
In the original plan for the Constitution, welfare receipients weren't allowed to vote. Only people who owned real estate. Returning to the original intents of the founding fathers would, over night, put the nation back on course and get rid of the never ending debt they have burdened us with.
To be sure, blacks would riot as they learned there was no more free lunch and wouldn't be the beneficiaries of the thefts made by government. I'd rather have this than the destruction of the whole of the nation.
Right now, everyone is waiting for the spark that lights the fire. If you doubt me, go talk to any gun dealer. The story is the same everywhere.
Now you can go ostrich if you like. The millions buying guns have already decided they will fight for their country and would rather die on their feet than live on the knees.
Count me as one.
It is no irony that the Joint Chiefs took the same oath to serve protect and defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. Will they? I'd say doubtful.
Obama is going to have to make some overt move that inflames the nation and, trust me, the guy isn't that bright. He can't tell the same story two days running.

That was a firecracker of a post: asking the military to take up arms against the government? This isn't southeast Asia, and I don't see the population, virtuous conservative or vile liberal, standing for even six months of a military junta. On what authority would the military arrest anyone?
And a separate question, when in your eyes was the last time America was abiding by the Constitution?

Correction
I didn't ask anyone to 'take up arms'. I expect that our laws and our Constitution be ENFORCED! Point in fact, the military is the only avenue left that doesn't involve widespread bloodshed. Anything else and it gets really messy.
Every avenue of federal law enforcement is controlled by the very lawbreakers who swore to uphold the Constitution. There is only one other organized executive force left that 'could' do it. The Military
Our Military has no history of conspiring to over throw the government and you're right, no one would support a junta. I would, for a temporary amount of time, be willing to support an effort to reinstate the constitution and there is NO HOPE this would be achieved by the very elected lawbreakers that destroyed it in the first place.
The last time the constitution was obeyed was in the administration before FDR. Deficit spending wasn't initiated until JFK and the vote buying schemes, on a federal level, started with LBJ's administration and the Great Welfare Society.
